Abstract
Summary form only given. The availability of reasonably priced high-density application-specific integrated circuits has allowed system developers to overcome the cost, power, and physical size problems associated with products containing hundreds of thousands or even millions of logic gates. The author has examined several factors which require careful attention to assure the success of using micro circuits in such large projects. Organizational and technical considerations related to the execution and verification of the design were also examined.<>
