Abstract
Controlled cell culture is one of promising approaches for advanced cells biology. Recently such technologies as photolithography [l], contact printing [2] and ink-jet printing [3] have been reported to enable a two-dimensional patterning of biomolecules that can control the spatial configuration of cultured cells. Although these methods provide feasible patterning of biomolecules on a substrate, they are applicable only for patterning biomolecules of single species. In order to study complex interactions between cens and biomolecules, feasible method for patterning biomolecules of two or more kinds of species is required In this work, we have developed a new multi-biomolecule patterning method using biomolecule-immobilized magnetic beads and microhole array chips. Microhole array chips are used as a template for transferring patterned beads.
