Abstract
This paper presents link level simulation results for the FDD (frequency division duplex) component of UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunication System), based on the W-CDMA access technique. The simulation results are given for the 8 kbit/s voice service, for the 384 kbit/s circuit switched data service (LCD, long constrained delay) and for the 480 kbit/s packet switched data service (UDD, unconstrained delay data). The results are given in terms of bit error rate (BER) or block erasure rate (BLER), as a function of the Eb/No (Eb=energy per information bit, No=noise power spectral density) ratio and the mobile speed, in four different propagation channels defined by ETSI and ITU-R
