Abstract
Digital beam forming algorithms are commonly used for spatial filtering which effectively result in more benign channel characteristics with reduced interference and delay spread and for spatial separation of different users to support an increased number of users in the same frequency band (SDMA). A new blind constrained beam forming (CBF) algorithm for two-dimensional linear antenna arrays is presented which allows optimum beamsteering and interference cancellation for nearly arbitrarily spaced directions for signals of interest as well as for interfering waveforms
