Abstract
This paper presents Guanella type spiral transmission line transformers (TLTs) fabricated on GaAs. The operating frequency is 1 to 15 GHz and the impedance transformation ratio is 4:1, matching 12.5 Ω and 50 Ω. Based on the commonly used TLT equivalent circuit a simple analysis of the structures is given that yields excellent agreement with measurements.
