Abstract
Due to the design of ride-on trucks currently on the market, paraplegic children are unable to utilize these toys. As a solution to this problem, a modified ride-on truck enabling the child to control and steer the vehicle with only his hands was constructed. Therefore, the client, born with limited motor control and without feeling from his chest down, desired a ride-on truck with the above alterations. A commercially available riding toy was then modified to provide thoracic support and stability and to allow hand-controlled acceleration.
