Abstract
To support multimedia traffic and maximize the channel utilization, a wireless packet system statistically multiplexes users with different rates and QoS requirements. Due to asymmetric multimedia traffic characteristics between uplink and downlink channels, a dynamic time division duplex technology is proposed for a wireless packet system. In this paper, we present a demand-assignment multiple access protocol and our proposed scheduling algorithm for a wireless packet network. We evaluate the performance of the proposed algorithm through the simulation results obtained by BONeS Designer. The results show that the proposed system increases the channel utilization
