  • Abstract
In electromagnetic interference (EMI) filters, the huge impact of parasitic parameters on high frequency filter characteristic has been addressed in recent years. Several approaches have been proposed to reduce or cancel the parasitic parameters of the filter components. This paper explores the structural capacitance cancellation concept proposed in [2-3]. General capacitance cancellation condition is derived. Critical influencing factors of the cancellation performance are analyzed and design guide is provided accordingly. Simulation and experimental results on a planar spiral winding inductor sample verify the developed theory.
