Abstract :
Summary form only given. While medical imaging has been the most successful application of computed tomography, industrial applications have ranged over a much wider range of energies, configurations, and materials. Within this group of applications, greater emphasis has been placed on quantitative analysis, especially dimensioning, and on automated image analysis. Industrial applications also have special use for techniques for reverse engineering from objects to computer models and for economical few-view reconstruction algorithms which take advantage of special symmetries or use other prior knowledge about the object.<>
