Abstract
We present a frequency estimation scheme designed for the dual-signal receiver but valid for any system which allows the transmission of two simultaneous co-channel signals. The main strength of the proposed scheme is the combination of a training sequence and an asymmetric bootstrapping structure which results in almost complete suppression of the degrading effect of the co-channel interference on frequency estimation. The estimation performance is evaluated without noise where the main impairment is given by the interference and in the presence of noise by comparing the variance of the estimation error with the modified Cramer-Rao bound. The obtained results are comparable with the results for the interference-free case
