Abstract :
This paper presents a novel black box, a safety control system for tower crane, which provides data recording, multifunction restrictors, intelligent operation and data analysis function. The black box developed on the basis of an ARM-based (advanced RISC machines) embedded system acquires high performance, low cost and high reliability. Owing to being designed on platform concept, it is convenience for operation and simple for maintaining. Its acquired data can be processed and stored into a flash disk USB device in terms of file that enlarges the storage volume to an unlimited range. The black box installed on a tower crane will ease craneman burden, improve operating efficiency, enhance tower crane safety performance and lower the cost of tower crane safety control system. The analysis software can interpret all acquired data and the working state can be replayed in software interface. With its help the cause of incidents can be easily to be found out.
