Abstract
Increases in ventricular volume have been shown to increase the energy required to defibrillate the heart and there is some evidence to suggest that right ventricular (RV) volume increases during an episode of fibrillation. Using data obtained by transthoracic echocardiography, the authors find evidence that RV volume increases during fibrillation and can be accurately estimated by two dimensional measurements
