Abstract :
The electrodeposition of iridium oxide charge injection coatings for neural stimulation electrodes is described. The depositions were conducted from an aqueous IrCl4 solution using gold substrates. The electrodeposited films exhibited growth rates and electrochemical behavior similar to AIROF. Charge storage capacities of 25 mC/cm2 were readily attainable and the films tolerated ultrasonication in distilled water with only minor loss of capacity
