Abstract :
Employing genetic algorithms and 4D-CAD technology, this paper implements work flow optimization and visualization system utilizing extensible Markup Language (XML) for date exchange standard. Optimization module solves time-cost trade off problem using multi-objective genetic algorithms with logic relationships, availability of work flow and work flow continuity constraint; Visualization module employing 4D-CAD technology makes the construction managers understand work flow conditions and correspondingly time-space conflicts. Application instance shows the developed model effectively ensures work flow continuity and enhances the feasibility of schedule.
