  • Abstract
    With the development of electric power system, the ultra-high voltage (UHV) AC power transmission is becoming a hot point for research and application. This paper introduces the ultra-high voltage AC power transmission. The feasibility and the necessary of the ultra-high AC power transmission are demonstrated respectively. The characters and the application of ultra-high voltage are demonstrated also. The challenges of the ultra-high voltage AC power transmission on technique, economy, and environment, especially on power system analyse and control are introduced and discussed. At last, the prospects of the ultra-high voltage AC power transmission are discussed.
