Abstract
In this paper the design development for power distribution equipment, especially gas insulated medium voltage switchgear is looked at. The question how safety, reliability and higher security for the power distribution equipment can be achieved is answered. The medium voltage switchgear Siemens type NxPlusC with vacuum circuit breaker is hermetically welded with a silicone rubber insulator at the bus bar and can meet highest requirements in respect to environmental conditions, gas tightness, partial discharge and ageing. The NxPlusC switchgear increase the power distribution reliability.
