Abstract
Proposes a new method based on computerized image processing to extract the boundary of the esophageal lumen and assess the status by detecting the possible presence of abnormalities from color endoscopic images. The proposed method involves a combination of thresholding, region growing, boundary extraction, contour smoothing and curvature computing. The experimental results tend to support the feasibility of this proposed method
