  • Abstract
    An intelligent fuzzy controller for a lead-acid battery charger has been investigated in this research. The fuzzy controller implies an intelligent two step charging method. At the first stage a high current fast charge fuzzy algorithm charges the battery to almost 70% of it´s full capacity. At the second stage the battery voltage is maintained at a set value and the current is left to decrease exponentially. Depolarization technique provided in the battery charger further enhances the effectiveness of the charging process by reducing the internal resistance of the battery
