Abstract
A robust variable structure control problem is considered for a class of uncertain neutral delay systems with external disturbance. By selecting a sliding surface depending on the current state and delayed state, the paper gives a sufficient condition in terms of linear matrix inequalities(LMIs) such that the closed-loop system is guaranteed to be asymptotically stable. According to reaching condition, the corresponding control method is designed to guarantee state trajectory from any initial state are attracted to sliding surface in finite time interval and is kept here thereafter. Lastly a simulation is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
