Abstract :
This paper introduces a kind of SS(star-subnet) NOC architecture. Based on current CLICHE structure NOC in which all the nodes are organized in regular grid topology, SS NOC uses further the concept of subnet and it characterizes that one router and four nodes are interconnected in star topology in the subnet. OPNET simulation results show that SS NOC has less end-to-end delay than CLICHE NOC and only has 1/4 total number of routers of CLICHE on the same network scale. On the other hand, the load of routers in SS is less than twice of that of CLICHE. So SS NOC has better performance/cost rate than CLICHE
