Abstract
The various physical approximations and numerical techniques employed in the simulation of semiconductor microsensors are reviewed. In particular, the effects of thermal, optical, magnetic, and mechanical measurands, on the basic drift-diffusion based system of equations governing electronic transport in microsensors, are addressed. Model equations governing the mechanical behaviour of micromechanical sensors are also presented.
