Abstract
Constrained model predictive control (MPC) algorithm is employed to networked automatic generation control (AGC) systems in this paper. Generation rate constraint (GRC) has been considered, in addition, buffers are introduced at the governor node so as to compensate transmission delay or data dropout induced by communication channel. Finally, the developed scheme is implemented in a two-area non-reheat thermal system in presence of GRC and the results show the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
