Abstract
The TELEPATH concept system has been developed to evaluate different mobile RF communications and automative display systems. The RF communication systems implemented in the TELEPATH concept system include wide-area, as well as short-range systems, demonstrating high, medium and low data-rate communication channels. The vehicle displays implemented include a hide-away color flat panel display and a multifunction head up display for basic vehicle information, navigation functions and other intelligent vehicle highway system (IVHS) data. These communication and display technologies are demonstrated using the TravTek navigation platform. The implementation details of the TELEPATH concept system are described.
