Abstract
This study addresses the effect of the transients on the operation of a 1 V programmable Josephson voltage standard. A careful modeling of the bias current dependence of the waveform generated shows that the particular shape of the voltage transition has little influence on the harmonic contents of the waveform. The critical point is the timing associated with the transition.
