Abstract :
The authors present a systematic methodology for the design of a fuzzy logic control system. The basic design idea is the concept of an indirect control approach where selection of control parameters relies on the estimates of the process parameters. In the formulation of the fuzzy control problem, the process relation and the desired transition relation play an important role. In the proposed approach, an offline fuzzy identification scheme is used to identify the process relation of the unknown plant; an optimal control algorithm, based on the cell state space, is used to specify the desired transition relation. The use of the transition relation makes it possible to design the fuzzy optimal control systematically
