Abstract
Information on a Swedish GNSS-based CNS/ATM, ATC, ATN and collision avoidance concept based on the GNSS Transponder is given. The GNSS Transponder consists of a high performance Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver, communication processors, and a transceiver. The GNSS Transponder can be installed in any mobile unit such as aircraft, vehicles, vessels, and can also function as a base station/differential GPS (DGPS) station. The system has potential applications ranging from precision approaches, ATC surveillance and cockpit display of traffic superimposed on digital maps during all phases of flight, including the airport surface.
