Abstract :
Internet has always played a significant role in Estonia´s development. Over the years, the state has contributed to ensuring its availability in central and local governments, schools, public libraries and other public sector institutions. Two years ago the government of the republic approved the Estonian information society strategy for 2007-2013. In this context, an overview of Estonian steps to the information society has been given.
