Abstract :
The restructuring of the electric power industry has involved paradigm shifts in the real time control activities of the power grids. Optimal power flow (OPF) is the most significant technique for obtaining minimum cost generation patterns in a power system with existing transmission and operational constraints. Flexible AC transmission system (FACTS) devices have the ability to allow power systems to operate in a more flexible, secure, economic, and sophisticated way and to minimize line congestion. The objective of paper is to develop OPF solution incorporating FACTS devices in deregulated power market
