Abstract
This study is involved with an analysis on the electrical power system of a cellular mobile telecommunications operator in Taiwan. Primary, standby and emergency power operations for three important types of facilities were addressed including mobile service switching center (MSC) site, hub site and cell site or base transceiver station (BTS). Optimum emergency battery time sizing for the above three types of facilities were discussed in length. Future development tasks suggestions on electrical power systems were on long-term system reliability, and fuel cell technology adaptation and its system integration.
