Abstract
This paper illustrates both the detailed theoretical setup of the Service Discovery Mechanism (SDM) in networks in general, in particular in Access Networks (ANW) or domains providing services or in Peering Networks (PN) between IP-Multimedia Networks (IMN), and its technical implementation using Open Source Software (OSS) components. Moreover, a model is proposed to handle different service types according to their corresponding service capability requirements. The functionality is verified by evaluating service requests towards the Domain Name System (DNS) after discovering these services, identified by an adequate tuple of information.
