  • Abstract
This paper introduces an active programming concept demonstrator, which allows the students participate in demonstrating difficult programming concepts that are not intuitive to them via computers. The objective of the system is to enhance the advantages and avoid the disadvantages of the physical demonstration. The demonstrator is a Web based collaborative system. A student is represented by a client computer, who could be either an auditor or an actor. A lecturer can be a demo manager who can create demonstrations for various programming concepts from various courses. As long as a demonstration is created, a demo session can be scheduled for the participators to sign on. The process of each demo session is visualized on the screen. This should greatly improve visual communication and make the learning process more enjoyable. Currently an initial prototype of the system has been developed for concept approval. Experiments on the prototype show that the environment and the implementation are feasible
