  • Abstract
    In order to solve the difficult problem of large ship in track keeping and turning control, an improved control strategy for direct track intelligent control method is brought forward. The advantages of fuzzy control and PID control are made full use of and fuzzy PID control is applied on direct track control. Besides, a novel turning control strategy is adopted at turning point. Based on the above improved method, some simulation experiments for a certain large surface ship are carried out. The results show that the ship can track the setting path quickly and accurately, track the next path smoothly and fast, and overcome the wind and wave disturbance well under the sea state four. The purpose of a large ship´s precise track keeping is reached under mid-high sea state.
