Abstract
Ba/sub 2/NaNb/sub 5/O/sub 15/ (BNN) is an efficient material for green laser emission of second-harmonic generation (SHG) and appears to have the highest non-linear coefficients combined with no photorefractive damage as result of its tungsten bronze-type structure. Crystal growth by two original techniques, micro-pulling down and laser-heated pedestal growth, leads to an important improvement in the crystalline quality and homogeneity of the fiber.
