Abstract
The focus of this work is to explore the application of a wavelet-based vibration detection scheme for the Pathfinder Plus research aircraft. Simulation is conducted for the wing structure on this testbed vehicle. FEMLAB is utilized to model the physics involved with vibration induced on the wing of the Pathfinder Plus due to aerodynamic forces. Then, the Daubechies wavelet is used to detect the vibration signal of the wing based on the signal´s frequency spectra. While these results are preliminary, the output is useful and shows that Daubechies 10 (db10 at level 4) reveals characteristic features of the Pathfinder Plus wing structure under stress and strain.
