Abstract
Performance analysis of packet switched networks subject to random failure is considered. Average network delay for a single packet is considered as a measure of this performance. Based on considering the most probable states to simulate random failure, an algorithm is developed to evaluate this measure for any given network taking into account link capacities, link availabilities, offered traffic and the constraints of a routing discipline. Application of this algorithm to a typical network is demonstrated
