Abstract
The peak-to-average ratio (PAPR) of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) system is one of the most important drawbacks that limit the performance of OFDM. Selected mapping (SLM) performs very well in PAPR reduction and the optimality condition for SLM has been proposed. A large number of vectors meet this condition, one of which is loosely synchronized (LS) code. Moreover, OFDM must be coded in practice, as is called coded OFDM (COFDM), which cannot meet the hypothesis of independent elements of each data block Thus, we investigate the case of SLM using LS code as the phase vectors (called LS-SLM), and show the outstanding performance by empirical simulations in COFDM.
