Abstract
A DSP-based controller is used to study the application of a direct torque control method for the sensorless control of permanent magnet synchronous motors. Initial rotor-position dependent flux causes some problems in a sensorless drive using a simple integrator. A first order quasi-integrator is proposed for use instead of the simple integrator. Simulation and experimental results show that sensorless control of PM machines is possible
