Abstract
The goal of this paper is to clarify the relationship between timbre words that are KANSEI data, bowing parameters that are motion parameters and tempo in the “A” major scale playing on the violin. Sensory tests about the scale sounds were performed. Each single sound used in the scale were produced by a bowing machine separately under some bowing parameter sets. Some “A” major scales were combined in a personal computer by using the sounds. The experimental data were analyzed by factor analysis and multidimensional scaling (MSD). From the analysis of the data, the relationship between timbre words, bowing parameters and tempo were derived
