Abstract
In this paper, we introduce particle filtering for detection of BLAST systems. We propose at first a procedure to build prior distributions. Then, we establish an equivalent whitening filter output system model which enables to apply sequential Monte Carlo sampling, or particle filtering for detection. The proposed algorithm achieves near optimum performance due to the fact that it greatly reduces error propagation. Compared to MMSE-VBLAST cancellation technique, simulation results show that our proposed particle filtering detector significantly improves the overall system performance.
