Abstract :
The phenomenon of voltage instability and collapse is considered as a manifestation of steady state instability. The behaviour of a simple power system at unstable equilibrium point with different portions of induction motor load is analyzed in the torque-slip plane of induction motor with time scale decomposition of the system equations into fast and slow subsystems. A novel model of a power system dynamics is used with effects of system frequency variations included into the right sides of system state space equations.
