Abstract :
The paper presents a numerical study on the effects of the human head on the planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA) operating in the 2.45-GHz ISM band. The PIFA is placed at the side of the head. Using the finite difference time domain method, the impedance match, radiation patterns, and gain are compared in free space and on the human head.
