Abstract
The discrete prolate spheroidal sequences (DPSS) are used to design time-frequency well-localized pulse shaping filters for OFDM/OQAM systems. Compared with the rectangular filters of the OFDM multi-carrier systems, the filter we design can efficiently provide protection against frequency dispersion caused by Doppler spread. The optimized pulse shaping filters maximize the signal energy around the carrier frequencies, resulting in minimal spectral overlap between the adjacent sub-channels.
