Abstract :
This paper shows how Characteristic Mode Analysis can be used to gain insight into the underlying radiation mechanisms of antennas. Characteristic Mode Analysis is based on the Method of Moments, which is an integral equation-based, electromagnetic field simulation technique. A weighted eigenvalue problem yields the modes.
