Exploration and Practice on the Teaching Methods of MIS Course

With the development of multimedia and computer-assisted instruction (CAI) technologies, it is feasible for instructors to renew the teaching methods of MIS course. Due to the interdisciplinary property of MIS course, traditional teaching methods are not suitable to MIS course teaching. In this paper, based on the analysis on the special characteristics and teaching difficulties of MIS course, some new ideas on the teaching methods of MIS course are presented. We concentrate on four aspects of the teaching innovation, which are multimedia-based teaching, integrated-case-based teaching, CAI-based standard test, and normalization of teaching materials. The new teaching methods are all demonstrated through our real courses, and some software tools are developed to assist the application of the new teaching methods. The practice shows that our proposed teaching methods are helpful and applicable for current MIS course teaching.
