Abstract :
We propose a concept of online evolution of vehicle control systems. The paper presents the bio-control architecture (BCA) as a realization of this concept. As a first step of developing controllers with the BCA, it has been applied to control of fuel injection for a vehicle. Computer simulation shows the proposed system achieves a control that provides efficient fuel use by evolution. Then, the BCA has been applied to fuel control of a real vehicle. The results of experiments show online and steady improvement of the performance is successfully achieved with the BCA
