Abstract
This paper presents an evaluation framework for the effectiveness of e-business strategic planning (EBSP). From the e- business implementation process perspective, the evaluation indicators system of the framework consists of four levels corresponding to four stages of the e-business strategic implementation process. These four levels are: strategic objective level, resource analysis level, implementation level, and benefit evaluation level. Based on a survey of 95 Chinese firms´ e- business practices, the evaluation indicators system is used to assess the effectiveness of EBSP and to explore the characteristics of each stage of the e-business implementation process. This dynamic evaluation method provides a new management tool for forecasting, monitoring and evaluating e-business implementation at the firm level.
