Abstract :
Summary form only given. High-power CW magnetrons as microwave sources have been employed for many applications in industrial processes of food, rubber, textile, wood, ceramic, waste, and so forth. Many novel microwave applications have been reported and new areas are continually explored. So, the CW magnetrons experience various load conditions depending on the applications. The change in load condition results in the change in loaded Q value of the magnetron, which ultimately affects the performances of the magnetron. In the present study, CW magnetrons with different loaded Q values have been investigated using a three-dimensional (3D) particle-in-cell (PIC) simulation code, MAGIC3D. The loaded Q effects on the magnetron performances such as RF output frequencies, RF output powers, efficiencies and higher harmonics will be presented.
