Abstract :
With contactless inductive power transmission it is possible to transfer electrical energy in industrial, business or consumer electronics over an air gap and therefore avoiding sliding contacts, trailing cables or slip rings. The paper presents a concept for a computer-aided modelling and design of inductive power transmission systems. In this matter the minimisation of power loss and aspects of production like scattering of coils and electronic components are considered using analytical and numerical analyses. As a result, the paper presents an axis-symmetric transmission system, which is integrated into an aluminium housing and which enables the electrical power transfer of 500 W over an air gap of 11 mm. It is used in packaging and wood processing machines to enable an automatic change of machine instruments.
