Abstract :
Carbon nanotube (CNT) emitters are utilized for field emission x-ray source. The quality of the x-ray images is the main concern when improving the geometrical parameters involved in the construction of an x-ray source. These geometrical parameters includes among others the gaps between the parts of the field emission structure, the thickness of each material, the shape of each material and the geometrical dimensions of each part. In this study, the effect of the curved mesh was employed to determine its effect on the x-ray images developed. The obtained preliminary x-ray images using the conventional CNT-based x-ray source with flat and curved mesh as a grid part were compared and analyzed in terms of the x-ray images produced. In this study, it was found out that the curved mesh structure of the grid enhances the quality of the x-ray images obtained.
