Voice active mobile browser for windows phone 7 (A browser that helps visually impaired people)

This research paper analyses the available web browsers of smartphone, their features, and possible new features that users may required. This aims to provide a couple of solutions for some common problems existing for current available mobile web browsers by implementing a web browser application in the windows phone 7 with some new and unique features. These features include Text to speech, Speech to Text, Resume downloading, Bookmark and History facilities for the web browser. The speech to text and Text to Speech functions are implemented mainly for vision impaired mobile users who wish to connect internet and receive information. Further it aims to resolve a common problems in downloading files which are resuming the downloading files when the connection is back. Since these facilities are not available as a single application in mobile phones, the research aims at developing an user friendly application for all types of users. This research uses Windows Phone 7 as Windows phone 7s Voice to Text and Text to Voice features which are restricted to normal developers. Hence an alternative method is used to provide these unavailable functions. The final product will enhance the browsing experience of a mobile user and it can be further improved for future versions of windows mobile phones.
